It’s crazy how quickly and often things change in music. One minute you’re at the top, nobody able to touch you. Then the mext minute, we’re like “who?”
At one point, not too long ago, T-Pain was untouchable. Appropriately nicknamed “The King Of Collabos”, he was on EVERYBODY’S damn song. Some of his masterpieces include “Low”, “Blame It”, “Buy U A Drank”, “Can’t Believe It”, “Go Girl”, “One More Drink”, “Kiss Kiss”, “Good Life”, “Outta My System”, “The Boss”, “Got Money” and the list goes on and on. Every time you turned on the radio, there he was. Now, it seems as if he’s faded to the back.
His style of singing became very much scrutinized in Jay-Z’s song “Death Of Autotune” and the rest is history.
Now, it seems like the one in the spotlight is Atlanta Rapper, Gucci Mane.
He is mos definitely doin’ his thing. He has been on numerous songs including “Obsessed (Remix)”, “Break Up”, “Freaky Girl (Remix) and “5 Star Chick (Remix). He has worked with Usher on “Spotlight” and Plies on “Wasted”. He has an album coming out in December, The State vs. Radric Davis.

Bow Wow and Teairra Mari looked real nice and cozy on the set of their new movie Lottery Ticket. She plays a character by the name of Nikki Swayze. The film is directed by Erik White and is coming out next spring. Ice Cube is also in the movie. They actually look real cute together. She got that look in the second pic like “Bitches, yea you see me.” Its been awhile since we’ve heard anything from the former “Princess of The Roc”. She has a new single “Sponsor” featuring Gucci Mane (damn, he everywhere) that will hit radios December 1.
Kanye West’s Book Glow In The Dark will be released very soon (later this month, I believe) and it contains over 250 photos from his “Glow In The Dark” tour. It also has conceptual sketches by West, behind-the-scenes photographs, costumes designs and stage models. As a bonus, the book also comes packaged with a CD of previously unreleased live instrumentals for some of the songs performed on the tour as well as in interview with director Spike Jonze. Off To Jail Lil Wayne Goes

According to AllHipHop.com:
[Lil Wayne] is expected to accept an 8-month bid in jail over his alleged involvement with a loaded .40-caliber pistol gun found on his tour bus in 2007 while in New York.
The 27-year-old now faces 15 years in jail for each count of criminal weapons possession and criminal possession of a loaded weapon.
“Wayne is going to plead guilty,” a source close to AllHipHop.com states, stressing that this was definitely going to happen. The rapper pleaded not guilty at press time and has yet to make any such public declaration. “The date is coming up and he’s going to do it tomorrow.”
Wayne is rumored to be willing to accept the deal to avoid a long term in jail over the gun. The same source said the jail time will begin in February of 2010 under the terms of the deal. “If he doesn’t plead, he goes to jail for a long time,” the source said.
“They told him that if he doesn’t plead tomorrow, it will go to trial and then he faces a far longer jail term,” the source continued.
A small amount of DNA may have changed the landscape of the case, according to a report by the Associated Press. There is a “minuscule” amount of the rapper’s DNA on the gun, reports say, and that has strengthened the case for the prosecution.
Another hearing is set to resume tomorrow, where the rapper will reportedly announce his next move.
Lil Wayne has another trial looming in March over felony drug and weapons charges from a January 2008 police raid.
Damn Weezy! When will these damn rappers ever learn?
UPDATE: Lil Wayne pleaded guilty to the weapons charges earlier today. He is looking to get no more than 1 year in jail, but as reported earlier, he most likely will only do 8 months.
